We collect only what is needed to help you revise, we sell no data and the app shows no advertising.

Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller is the publisher of the app, shown on the Coach : Mon Examen Civique page in the App Store and Google Play. For any question about your data, write to coachmonexamencivique@gmail.com.

In the app

The data collected

• Your account: email address, first name and last name; photo and phone number only if you choose to add them.
• Your revision: language, progress, results, points, daily streak, badges, conversations with Francis, games of The Civic Ladder.
• Your settings: notification preferences, whether or not you appear in the ranking.
• Technical identifiers: to send you notifications, and, for the game, a device identifier made unreadable (hashed) that limits trial games without making it possible to identify you.
• Your Premium subscription: status and purchase history. We never receive your bank details: payment happens with Apple or Google.

In guest mode, no personal information is requested: your progress stays on your phone and you do not appear in the ranking.

Why we use it

• to run your account and save your progress (performance of the service);
• to adapt your revision to your weak points and send you the reminders you chose;
• to show the ranking, if you take part;
• to manage your Premium subscription;
• to fix crashes and prevent abuse in the game (legitimate interest).

Never for advertising, and never to sell it.

On this website

• The 50 traps sheet: your email address and your agreement to receive our emails (consent). You can unsubscribe at any time, in one click from each email or by writing to us.
• An account deletion request: the account’s email address and your message, to handle the request (legal obligation).

The website uses no cookies and no audience measurement tool that tracks you. Only your choice to mute the pen sound is remembered in your browser, so we don’t ask again. The fonts are hosted with the website: your browser calls no third-party service to display it.

Who processes your data for us

• Supabase: database and sign-in to your account, on servers in Frankfurt (Germany, European Union).
• Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd, Ireland): notifications and crash reports, linked to an account identifier, never to your email.
• RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States): management of the Premium subscription (account identifier and purchase history).
• Apple and Google: downloading the app and paying for the subscription, under their own privacy rules.
• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States): hosting of this website.

When data is processed outside the European Union, the transfer is covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep it

• Account and revision: as long as your account exists. When you delete it, everything is erased from our databases.
• Crash reports: deleted automatically by Firebase after 90 days.
• Address left for the sheet: until you unsubscribe, and at most 3 years after our last contact.
• Account deletion request: 1 year after it is handled, to be able to prove it was handled.

Your rights

At any time you can access your data, correct it, export it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent. In the app, edit your profile from the Profile tab, leave the ranking in Settings, or delete your account. For anything else, write to coachmonexamencivique@gmail.com.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can contact the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

Younger users

In France, a minor can consent alone to the processing of their data from the age of 15. Below that age, a parent’s agreement is required.

Security

All exchanges between the app, the website and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Each account can only access its own data; in the ranking, only your first name and your photo are visible.

Changes

This policy may change, for example when a feature is added. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
